Chris Bishop Appointed Editor of Professional Strength and Conditioning

15/07/2025

The UKSCA is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Chris Bishop as the new Editor of Professional Strength and Conditioning, the Association’s professional journal.

This appointment comes at a pivotal moment as we relaunch the journal to capitalise on new publishing formats and more closely integrate it into the UKSCA’s wider communications strategy. Chris brings a wealth of experience and leadership in both academic publishing and coaching practice, making him ideally placed to ensure the journal strengthens the UKSCA’s voice across the profession and increases our influence with external stakeholders.

Under Chris’s editorial leadership, the journal will continue to serve as a key platform for thought leadership, engagement and knowledge exchange across the diverse sectors in which our members work. The relaunch will also focus on recognising and celebrating the coaches progressing the profession, and on enhancing member engagement through high-quality content, coaching resources and research dissemination.

We would also like to take this opportunity to extend our sincere thanks to Professor Ian Jeffreys, who has served with distinction as Editor for many years. Ian’s contribution has been instrumental in establishing the journal’s credibility and value, and we are extremely grateful for his commitment and longstanding service to the Association.
