UKSCA's Board of Directors Election 2015

Nominations are now being received for those wishing to join the UKSCA's Board of Directors. This year's election, concluding at the AGM on 1 August 2015, is concerned with the following positions:

  • 1x Finance and Administration Director (2 year term)
  • 4x Directors of the Association (2 year terms)

UKSCA Financial Grants 2015

For the last few years the UKSCA has been generating a financial surplus, a large proportion of which is now being set aside for the development of projects that reflect the aims of the association and benefit the membership. As part of this investment, members are now invited to apply for financial grants to support the development of research and coaching projects in the UK, in these three categories:

Nominations are now being received for Fellowships to the UKSCA as well as the 2015 Coaches of the Year in the following categories; Elite Sport, Development Sport; Education and Research; Youth Sport; Emerging Coach.

UKSCA's 11th Annual Conference - 31 July-2 August 2015 - Chesford Grange, Warwickshire

This year's annual conference will run from Saturday 1st to Sunday 2nd August with our pre-conference event (Youth S&C) running on the Friday afternoon.

Saturday 1 August:

  • Alex Wolf - Performance problem solving: a model for sustained medal success
  • Dr Brad Schoenfeld - Hypertrophy loading zones: optimising repetition ranges for maximal muscle growth

  • Dr Avery Faigenbaum - Youth resistance training: past practices, new perspectives and future directions

Sunday 2 August

  • Katie James - Repeatability of high intensity efforts in team sports (netball).
  • Dr Stuart Cormack - Monitoring training: from research to application

Strength & Conditioning for the Young Athlete - Pre-conference Seminar - 31 July 2015 14.00-18.00

Call for Abstracts - Deadline 26 June 2015

We are now accepting abstract submissions for this year's annual conference in two categories; original research; and applied case study. More details can be found here

We strongly encourage all members, students, early career researchers and established academics to submit an abstract, which they feel will add value and be of interest to all those who attend the conference. This research/case study strand of the conference provides a valuable opportunity for individuals to present their work to colleagues and peers, and we are confident that this section of the conference will draw upon the growing success of previous years, showcasing the outstanding work of our members.
